Evaluation: What would be the audience for your media product?

My ideal audience would be somewhat similar to Notions target audience. The average gender that are attracted to my magazine are females but it shall continue to appeal to males as well. The age range between 18-30 appeals to students and people who have a little money to spend on the finer things. The minimalist theme makes it appear to be more for the upper class but the content is more of what students are people who have an interest in music and arts. My audience would have interests in fashion, culture and music. A national survey shows that 74% of people between the age of 18-24 are to spend £10 a week on music, showing that music is a big influence in teenage and student lives. The disposable income for my target audience is around £30 a week showing that a 1/3 of it is going to music instead of other luxuries. My target audience will also have interests such as; going on holiday, going to the cinema, buying clothes, going to concerts and festivals, socialising with friends, buying a car.

My target audience would be attracted to my magazine due to the content and the link to their interests. The price of the magazine is also suitable as it allows them to keep up to date on music and the latest trends which seems to be a important thing.

Evaluation: In what way does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

I have used to rules of house style to create my magazine from my style model, Notion, and have followed the minimalist and monochrome appearance of the magazine. I have followed the use of a bold and eye catching title of a magazine and a main image supported by a bold heading and smaller titles to the right. For my contents I followed the overall appearance of Notion by the images on the left hand side of the page, the font and page numbers. For my double page I was influenced by the text type and having a format of having five columns of text.
