Naomi Wolf
Naomi Wolf wrote 'The Beauty Myth' about the way magazines portray men and women on the front of magazines. I done some further research about the topic.
Uses and Gratifications; Bulmler and Katz
I created a mindmap from the information I found on Bulmler and Katz theory which explains the elements within the theory and what effect it has on the reader.

Magazine Pitch
In conclusion of the research i have carried out, i am going to compose a magazine in relation to NME as it attracts and appeals to those with an interest in alternative music. My front cover shall include a modern artist or band such as imagine dragons or one republic as it appeals to the age range in which i am addressing. As there are not many music magazine that only appeal to females i am going to create a magazine based upon features in NME but with more feminine comparisons.
My primary target audience shall be females aged 15 to 18 which has been concluded from the questionnaires that i carried out. My secondary audience shall be the female population in general as there are is a wide age range of people who are interested in different music genres. The occupation of the readers will most likely be students, so including content such as the latest fashion trends, upcoming gigs, the latest charts and new technology, this will attract them into buying the magazine. Music artists that are in the alternative chart shall be included due to the reader enjoying that style of music. Quirky and unique fashion items shall be included and events in the area shall be listed.

Music Magazine Questionnaire
I carried out a questionnaire to see what people prefer in a magazine and what features would appeal to them. I put my result into a range of different chart types, such as pie charts and tables.
From my results I have seen that females prefer the magazine but stereotypically males are more into music magazines so for my magazine I may address the male population so it helps the sales. I have also found out that people would prefer to see an old singer on the front cover which would link to the alternative genre that the magazine is. The target audience is a range between 15-18 which would prefer to have a magazine once a month at a higher price of £1-£1.99.
